Moon Lit Sky Experiment #2I have always admired other photographers shots of the moon and the details they seem to get, so I thought I would try and see what pictures I could get with my small knowledge of photography techniques.
Today I am posting two versions of the same Moon Shot for your viewing pleasure and to show how my experiment with this project came out.

I always run into difficulties when I try to photograph the moon. I love both of your shots, though - especially the second; a beautiful harvest moon.
PS - and your shots of the monarch butterflies are fantastic!
Great moon shots. I usually get the darker one. which I do like. Sometimes I get the lighter moon. I think it has to do with what's floating around in the atmosphere. MB

Maria..The shot was taken using my 70-300 Nikon lens with VR feature, the reason I was able to hand hold the camera for the shot..the VR feature is a fantastic allowing one to get some super shots hand holding the camera instead of having to mount it on a tripod.
