Moon lit Sky Experiment #1
Moon Lit Sky Experiment #2I have always admired other photographers shots of the moon and the details they seem to get, so I thought I would try and see what pictures I could get with my small knowledge of photography techniques.
Today I am posting two versions of the same Moon Shot for your viewing pleasure and to show how my experiment with this project came out.

Stunning shots!
I've done the second one - not as vivid; but I have no idea how you did the first one.
Nice work!

I love it! I have always had a special "relationship" with the moon, I think these two photos are so beautiful. Well done! The moon makes me calm. =)
Thanks for your visit at my blog, too! =)
brilliant!
Great shots, so clear!
I too is amazed with beautiful moon shots. I still have to learn to do that. Thanks for sharing these great shots and for your visit Bob. Have a nice weekend.
I always run into difficulties when I try to photograph the moon. I love both of your shots, though - especially the second; a beautiful harvest moon.
PS - and your shots of the monarch butterflies are fantastic!
Great moon shots. I usually get the darker one. which I do like. Sometimes I get the lighter moon. I think it has to do with what's floating around in the atmosphere. MB
Great work! Love the different colored corona effects
I would say they came out extremely well! These are gorgeous shots! Have a great weekend!

Maria..The shot was taken using my 70-300 Nikon lens with VR feature, the reason I was able to hand hold the camera for the shot..the VR feature is a fantastic allowing one to get some super shots hand holding the camera instead of having to mount it on a tripod.
Thanks to all of you for your comments.

Very successful experiments! And you didn't use a tripod....I thought that was the secret for moon shots. Too marvelous!
Great moon shots, nicely done. Thanks for shairng.
I'd call your experiment a success!
I must say your experiment went very well - you did a great job capturing the moon!
