Sky Watch Friday

To view skies from all over the world or to participate...just click on the Logo above.

Thank you again to our sponsors who tirelessly use their time to bring us wonderful views of skies from all over for our viewing pleasure.

My post today was taken at the close of day on the Twenty Second day of July as I stepped outside and noticed a very eye catching sunset in the West and North West.

As usual, click on any photograph to enlarge for a close up and personal view.

Start of the Sunset in the West

About 20 minutes later W.

Wonderful Color also in the NW

As I turned to come back into the house I noticed up in the SW Sky a big bright 3/4 moon shinning down on me so I pointed the camera up and took a shot of the Moon and then did a close up shot also which you will see below.

3/4 Moon in the SW Sky

Close up of the 3/4 Moon...you just have to click on this one to enlarge for a better view.

Awesome skies! What dramatic, gorgeous colors! All of your shots are superb and I love the moon shots! I managed to get a pretty good one several days ago -- pretty good considering my camera is pretty basic. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Those moon shots are hand held? Fantastic! Love the sunset colors, too.

Eaglesbrother said...

In answer to Clairz...yes the moon shots were hand held..now the reason I was able to do that..I have a Nikon D50 SLR camera...with which I can change lenses...on that photo I used my Nikor 70-300VR lens (VR meaning vibration Reduction) which locks on to the object and keeps it from getting any slight movment of hand held shot...such a wonderful feature to have..as I am a bit old..and do have a small bit of hand shake while holding a camera with such a large and heavy lens. I would not be able to hanhold a lens of that size without the VR feature...I would surley get blurr from movment.
