Foggy Morning Adventures

You may notice I am having trouble getting the Font to appear in the right place , well, I haven't posted in quite some time and it seems they have made some changes in the
method of arranging the font either "Alligned Left" or "Allign Center", or it could be just me...lol

Yesterday dawned foggy and wet, so I took the camera out to try and capture some  fog shots, and because the light was just right for shooting flowers etc. I decided to take a few photographs of some of the 200 Tulips that I planted early this fall that are now up and blooming.

 Morning Purple..In the foreground is White Sage growing, and to the left is Yarrow, in background is the Purple ( Miniature Grape Hyacinths ? )..not sure of the name.

 A very friendly Robin just a few feet away from me exploring the wet grass for breakfast.

 Yes, He was just as curious about me as I was to Him..stopping to take a good look at me.

                       Just a few shots now of some of the new arrivals in the tulip bed.

Red Tail Hawk Day

As some of you know I have an obsession with taking photographs of my Red Tail Hawk friends here..so I keep an Eagle eye out for any of them to come around and tempt me to take their pictures.

For some reason the Hawks have been frightened and do not allow me to approach them as close as I used to be able to..at most the best I can do is to get about 1,000 ft. at closest to them anymore.

A few days back, I spotted two Hawks doing the "Hawk Dance" ( Mating Dance) in and around a Walnut tree about a 1/4 mile from the cabin..so I grabbed the camera and out I went to get some picture..and happily snapped away for a short while..then realized I had the VR turned off on my 70-300 lens..I looked at what I had shot and found "Blurr" from camera shake.

I then turned on the VR and started to try it again when all at once the clouds came and sat down on all the surrounding area...covering everything in a thick fog like atmosphere.

Now being a stubborn person..I still managed to get some pictures out of it and pulled them out of the fog to a fair degree and will show some as follows.

Here is my posting for Sky Watch Friday Nov. 20, Although the photographs were taken on Nov. 19 early morning sunrise.

After Two days or rainy skies the sun is beginning to rise and the clouds are rolling off to the North East as we anticipate partly cloudy afternoon skies here in the mountains of NC.

NC Mountains Foggy Morning

It was another of those unusual early morning ,thick fog draped,rising sun days. I was up very early as usual and I looked out the window and saw an amazing sight, a Half Moon in the sky and very thick fog covering the earth in a blanket grey, rising up into the sky.

I just had to go out and photograph it before it disappeared because here in the mountains Grandfather (Sun) rises very quickly once He climbs the top of the mountains quickly dispatches the fog.

This photograph was taken just about 15 minutes later as the Sun was getting higher in the sky and burning off the fog..amazing cloud formations lit Pink by the rising Sun.(click to enlarge)
